On being objective about truth

We can‟t be objective about truth, we are in the truth. Just like we are in
consciousness we can‟t get outside it. Just as truth is in language, we can never get outside it.
We don‟t have that luxury; to be objectively outside we are enveloped in both. We can never
be the objective. (Jumps on chair) X looking at the subjective Y. We are both X and Y at the
same time.

HUGO: We can‟t be objective about truth, we are in the truth. Just like we are in

same time. (Brushes chair to clean it)

EUGENE: So how do you propose we view ourselves? Tell me, how you view us?

HUGO: As this massive aggregation of cells which cluster in a way which suggests they
form a persisting unity but in reality the very units that drive our cells are treading the many
quantum worlds.

EUGENE: So we are a kind of...specious unity?

HUGO: Well, we are not static entities, there is no fixity. What we call reality has fixed
these pseudo notions and for good reason.

EUGENE: And what reason is that?

HUGO: All those selling their products to us. Politicians, the clergy, desire merchants in
advertising and media, they must appeal to somebody, like the subconscious, a subject is
created to be appealed to. Sorry, is this all sounding like another conspiracy theory from the

patient?
