There are Reds under my bed fantasy of Russian collusion

It is not just Mexico getting its 'Donald', Denmark and Sweden have reinstated border controls; Merkel the high priestess of open borders wobbles on her political stilts.

In the UK the vote to leave Europe was not an empirical argument it was a visceral response by the indigenous population and the subtext was the UK had accepted too many refugees.

Populations are casting their votes against the quasi religious liberal consensus on migration, such actions are no longer viewed as border xenophobia but a safeguarding of their culture.

Viktor Orban in Hungary and Jaroslaw Kaczynski in Poland feel that their views on immigration have been vindicated, not just at home, but across Europe, even if their thinking is flawed they are winning the battle of ideas over border controls and openness. They have many new allies across Europe capitals for instance in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, and yes, Emmanuel Macron’s victory was astonishing, but equally jaw dropping was the fact that a third of France still voted for Marine Le Pen.

The recent elections in Italy and Austria have further undermined the Merkel guilt ridden liberal mantra of open borders. The Liberal view no doubt will limp on, as religions do, but across Europe there are new Sheriffs in town asserting their rights at the ballot box. So why are the views of the above nations changing? Please, please no comments of the 'reds under our beds' type and it is all caused by Russian collusion.
