With stunning speed, a new centrist-liberal orthodoxy (or quasi Religion) came into being, enveloping the major media and the bipartisan Washington establishment. Their uncritical embrace and endless repetition of the Russian hack story, which has become a leftist mantra, 'say after me, the Russian rigged the U Election, hear this often enough by way of the media and you get suckered and the media have created a fait accompli in the public mind.
This new orthodoxy, is no more that a creed of Washington insiders. However. question the received narrative in casual conversations, tr it and you run the risk of bile ridden name calling and overt hostility
This secular religion has attracted hordes of converts in the first year of the Trump presidency. In its capacity to exclude dissent, it is like no other formation of mass opinion in my adult life, though it recalls a few dim childhood memories of anti-communist hysteria, ie Reds Under the Bed
