Astronomers work very hard to detect what might have happened shortly after the Big Bang. Just days ago, they detected signals that carry an imprint from some of the first stars ever born. Still, I can't help having detected over the years that humans are far less bright than they think they are. There's too much we don't know, because there's too much we haven't experienced and we tend to look at so many things from a human-centric perspective. Perhaps, one day soon, aliens will descend upon us to inform us that our ideas of physics are laughably rudimentary and that we don't understand the existence of another thousand dimensions of life, the universe and everything. Then again, another famous physicist, Michio Kaku, believes we should steer clear of aliens entirely.
