How do criminals learn their deviant behaviour

Edwin Sutherland posited that criminals learn criminal and deviant behaviors and that deviance is not inherently a part of a particular individual's nature.

When an individual's significant others engage in deviant and/or criminal behavior, criminal behavior will be learned as a result to this exposure.

Also, he argues that criminal behavior is learned in the same way that all other behaviors are learned, meaning that the acquisition of criminal knowledge is not unique compared to the learning of other behaviors.
