As Nietzsche focused his considerable talents on the search
for the historical sources for many well-known texts, he immediately was struck
by the fact that the more often one compares later versions to earlier versions
of the same text, errors frequently appear. This in turn led him
to doubt that the “true” original
version
could ever be found in one specific source, for all things can be seen as
interpretation. This scattering of truth, will have a marked impact on his philosophy and later that of postmodernism
