Lee Strasberg’s daughter Susan remembers Denis Hopper’s disappointment after a psychiatrist he consulted told him he wasn’t neurotic enough to need therapy.
"If I’m not sick, how can I be a good actor?" Hopper moaned.
To which she replied, either with sincerity or as an act of kindness:
"You are sick, Dennis. Believe me, you are!"
