An associate sits at our table, her eyes sparkle as she tell us how she bumped into a minor celebrity
at Heathrow Airport. If we deconstruct 'bumped into' we might take that to mean spotted this
'celebrity' from a distance of a terminal or two.
What puzzles me is this fascination with 'celebrity' this particular one being a 'stand up comedian;
(who isn't these days?). I mean I and many others regard stand-up comedians and soap actors
as painted fools.
You never hear someone say I saw Judge X, or Surgeon X at the airport, people who have actually achieved something.
Ah well, people want to have fun, to be stupid.
