How originality eludes me - I am deja lu

Even the apercu, 'if it was really original who would we know it, for we must compare it to something to know what it is,' - even this seems an unoriginal retread. 

One endeavours to be original but the unfamiliar on reflection seems so ...familiar.  What appear to be breathtakingly innovative or crammed with original insights on reflection are no more than perpetual recycling of ideas that are out there in the ether.
