'As an undergraduate.. Kavanaugh was involved in an altercation at a local bar during which he was accused of throwing ice on another patron'.  My God! hold the front page. One has to admire this kind of sleuthing journalism, indefatigable reporting, no wonder the press are fulminating; in my view this calls for a full scale invasion of this man as far back as well... in utero. OK, enough satire. Once again the media, parades itself as  paragons of integrity, with such uniformally ill intentioned lambasting of Kavnaugh and all journalistically conveyed as if from the vantage point of ideological purity. Fear of Trump it would appear has driven journalism into a suffocating group think  One can envisage if Kavanaugh is elected the perceived defeat will be turned into a rhetorical victory by the media in a dressing up of humiliation. Historically it is not the first time the US has employed 'fake'  mews; think Vietnam and that
time of high level deceit and media subservience. Journalists convey their sentiments (which they believe are morals) as if they were devotees of Camelot wishing to be rid of this tiresome
Priest (Kavanaugh). The effects of such thinking for the US will be calamitous. Once the Kavanaugh saga is over the Media will
return to their Bête noire, Russiaphobia. No doubt independent
investigative journalism remain essential to democracy but as Kavanaugh shows how many will risk personal and professional ruin by defying their own herd.
