According to Freud, the act of suicide always involves more than one person.
Maybe that is one reason why suicide is classified as a crime.
Maybe, too, that is why biographies of say Sylvia Plath always take on the aura of hunt the culprit:
because there is an unacknowledged crime calling out to be uncovered,
Suicide, as everyone knows, casts a shadow over those it leaves behind.
When such a horrible event such as suicide of someone you know there begins to hunt the real culprit, Someone has to be guilty. Someone is to blame
who caused her/his suicide, who caused her/him to commit such a heinous crime to us.
It is a paradox of suicide that the murderer, is the one who didn’t survive.
