Knowing somebody by how few friends they have got.

I am stand alongside Amie.  In the distance a car pulls up, the driver gets out followed by a man and a woman.
"Is that your husband there, getting out of that car."
"No, no," says Amie,  "can't he him."
"How can you be so sure?"
"Those two people with him, he just hasn't got that many friends."
