It’s all around us, isn’t it? They have babies before they’re ready.
Two toddlers and a baby in the push chair.
The is screaming at one of the toddlers. Defiantly the toddler parks himself on the pavement legs
kicking convulsively, screams arresting the passers by. The mother has walked off down the street
using her departure as a threat. Under the glare of passers by, she hurries back.
Some time later she will have her moment of fame in the local rag.
The father, who she is separated from, unemployed and on drugs has come
round and smashed up the apartment. "The kids they was terrified."
The neighbours tut tut. "They don’t know what they’re getting into."
" With them, them sort of people, it’s one problem after another."
They split up or the father gets in trouble with the police.
Don’t we see it all the time? He’s unemployed, he uses drugs.
One day he decides he’s entitled to see more of the kids
Then he comes around and they argue and he breaks up the furniture.
The mother gets a court order.
He has to stay away from the child,
" Look how fat she is."
"They are all fat, like walking whales."
Have you been in this human building...its called the Welfare State.
