What is the lure of the Chruch spire? You don't 'believe' but as you approach the village you see the
Church Spire in the distance.
There is a beauty to it, a spiritualised beauty as it ascends above all the others more earthly buildings. Yes, it is worthy of the deepest respect as it ascends upwards.
In turn the village I approach, to a stranger like me, looks somehow better, nobler, more dignified, with more meaning behind it.
So you near the village now and instinctivly you give the Spire more respect and love than other buildings.
We have, or I have, a perception of the meaning of the of the Church Spire – yet I know not what it is?
