A great deal of human agonising with the resultant personal emotional distress,
is caused by the practise of reifying our thinking.
Our thinking is processual, a constant flow. However when we name our thinking
ie 'that is panic' this is 'nerves' we are following the taxonomers, those who have
named processes,
And behind this naming, this ontologising of process, is someone, and that someone as Michel Foucualt would have it is in the medical profession. And behind those who' named' are the phamaceutical companies.
One seldom hears of the liberating and healing potential of de-essentialized concepts and images,
(not naming the process of your thinking).
A great deal of emotional distress and real human suffering is caused, for example, by dualistic thinking, the metaphysics of presence, and the idea of the autonomous self.
We need to reconceptualise the 'self' and see the 'self' as existing but only through its relationships with other relationally constituted selves.
As seen below the constant 'process' of our thinking is significantly more complicated
than the the simplicity of naming or reifying what we are thinking.
Neurons generate electrical signals that travel along their axons. When a pulse of electricity
reaches a junction called a synapse, it causes a neurotransmitter chemical to be released, which binds to receptors on other cells and thereby alters their electrical activity.
