You come from well-to-do parents; (although initially immigrants); you go to Oxford where your degree choice is PPE (so there is an inkling at this juncture you may be going into Politics) And what is the most salient thing in politics. It is power and could those people driven by the need for power be driven by pathology?

Then after Oxford our Ed' is on to the finishing school of Harvard.
How much does all this 'education' cost?
Then our Ed' is straight into poltics and he never (or never economically has to) experience the real world of work.
And even though Ed's knowledge about the world of real work is only theorethical that does not stop him pontificating about it.
So our Ed who has never had a job outside politics is a millionaire
and soon, come the next Election, may by the most powerful man in the UK.
Funny old world, isn't it? I mean if you are well to do, set your goals and then ruthlessly stick to them, amazing what you might achieve, isn't it?
