The notion of omnipotence (all powerful) is corrosive and deeply oppressive.
The problem in belief systems, lies not in the existence of images and concepts but rather our tendency to relate to them in a reified manner.
We become attached to images and concepts. We worship a concept of God rather than the God beyond all concepts.
For some thinkers, salvation/liberation is attained not by denying the existence of images and concepts. What is required is to affirm the provisional ontological (reality) status of images/concepts as useful means by which images/concepts are both transcended and yet remain what they are.
We might then perceive a God beyond God.
