Should morality be considered an undeveloped branch of science?

In neuroimaging the same area of the brain lights up for 'science' '...the sun is a star,' as it does for ethics, '...cruelty is wrong', This is just one accessible example among thousands that are more complex.
Therefore, if from the point of view of the brain, believing “the sun is a star” is importantly similar to believing “cruelty is wrong,” how then can we say that scientific and ethical judgements have nothing in common?                    Well, they are both judgements. Both are believed by human minds etc

What do we extract from this? '...of these men in white coats.. assembled in laboratories  telling us about the real meaning of ethics, morality etc and why we have adopted our moral purpose. Let us forego the usual Luddite, shock, horror response.

There are many who look at the barbarities of our present day society and cry out, '...bring it on, let the white coats have their day.  After all, you, have had yours.

So, Should morality  be considered an undeveloped branch of science? Discuss.
