The Principle of Mediocrity and the notion that the human brain has a limited capability.

David Deutsch in his thought provoking book, The Beginning of 
Infinity argues against the Principle of Mediocrity.  Which asserts
that progress in science cannot exceed a certain limit defined by the
biology of the human brain. And we may expect to reach that
limit sooner rather than later, so the mediocrists claim.
 For Deuthsch this is a parochial viewpoint and we may as the title
of his book Beginning of Infinity infers, be at the very beginning (in ideas) for
the human brain is limitless.
