The rioting mob drawn to a kind of imagery and signification

 

One might argue that progressive liberal and conservative political views are found flailing in diagnosing the problems of the political, especially when facing the devaluation of all values in consumer culture. 

AS the rioting/looting/ has shown the 'mob' or the more anodyne 'herd' such people are enveloped in a form of signification which relies on imagery (trainers designer goods)  and association rather than on rational and linguistic concepts.
