Received a card of an obelisk type piece of art, without explanation, as if the sender is implying
'I know what it means, do you?' Is it supposed to be redemptive for us? It is as if the sender has taken on the mantle of being the maître d of aesthetics guiding you to your table to savour what he feels is artistic feast. Just taste it. But I don't know what this piece of 'conceptual' art is, and if you ask him/her he won't know either.
Is its appeal its transitoryness as it makes some fleeting appearance
Is the aim to negate our preconceptions. It is like a display of magician how did I do that? You will never know, (as I don't really know myself). It is irritating in the extreme to have to deal with
pretentious people who hide out in artistic obscurity, under a mistake belief that have attained
a certain cachet in their obfuscation,
