Hatred of the 'other' is hatred of the 'self'.

The "hatred of the bourgeoisie" was a classic form of the "hatred of the other," but underneath, as all sleuths of dialogical confrontation know, the energy invested in creating an alien "other" was nothing else than hatred of 'self'.
