Women and their voices being heard in the male bastion of academic institutions

Theory holds a privileged position within an elitist institutions - the Academy, (Universities).
Historically  women, have served a long apprenticeships to the male theorethician which naturally must cause a certain disquiet.  There has been an oedipal struggle as female practitioners strive to supplant the master/father of the Academy. this can/has been construed as adversarial.

Even in this day of what might be termed  'post feminism',  feminists realise that in the Academy the 'masters' tools will never supplant the 'master's house'.

Yet  how can one be outside theory, for seeking some  pure experiental non-theoretic space is Utopian. And sortys and forays won't do. So it would seem feminists  must rely on that 'bad boy' of History Jacues Derrida and  the  ludic notions of jousiaance.surface, bricolage, or more succinctly the Mother.
