As we eat at a select bistro in Paris. There we are with glasses too big for our thirst and cakes on our table laden with cream from the Tyrol. Two urchins stop on the pavement and look at us in studied seriousness.
As they continue to lokk, she beckons the proprietor over with her elegant hand.
“Could you get one of your staff to move those two children away I just can’t eat the meal with...”
“Right away, Madame.”
She looks at me, “I had to ask him to send them away.”
I look at her and think ‘...would you like know why I hate you today?’
