A number of theists take the past-singular nature of cosmological models as (naive) confirmation of the claim that God created the universe ex nihilo (out of nothing)
But more present day scientific view holds that if the universe is really infinite and uniform it can be (and has been) argued that there will be an infinity of identical copies of all human beings and indeed of everything. Such a consequence, as discussed by Ellis, Max Tegmark, Alan Guth and others, clearly is theologically seismic
