Given asymmetrical gender power relations, the male gaze toward women carries a substantially different meaning than the female gaze toward men (Calogero, Tantleff-Dunn, & Thompson, 2011). Hence, we did not expect to find a link between the motivation for dominance and sexual objectification among women.
