You have to think inside and outside, but it is only atoms that are able to be in 2 places at the same time.

In my reply to an article in the New York Times I commented, '...This is clearly an informed article on the Gold Standard by an eminent economist/journalist. However if one could just dare to unravel some of the journalistic sentiments that lay secreted among the Gold Bars.
Opinion or Theory '..he (Trump) wanted the Fed to hurt President Obama, and now he wants it to boost his own reelection chances.'  Is this an assertion, an assumption, supposition, conjecture an opinion, a fact or a theory? Like most opinions it is a theory.

Career cynicism in Journalism '... it usually has less to do with conviction than with cynical careerism'  but isn't the taking of sides a requisite of cynical careerism in journalism?

You have to be inside and outside the box
You have to both understand the box and be able to think outside it,' and is this not a requirement for success in any profession and not just the province of Economists despite the stalling fact that only atoms can be in the two different places at the same time

On brave and independent thinkers or is that running with the herd?
'Everyone loves the idea of brave, independent thinkers whose brilliant insights are rejected by a hidebound establishment, only to be vindicated in the end.' Is Trump bashing brave, or independent thinking?  Seems to me, these days, it is no more than running with the herd.

Originality as a requirement to get an Academic Post
Surely originality, these days, is the last requirement to become a tenured hermeneute in what some term, Universities to be, 'ideological factories'.

On having Gold
Although well heeled (go on, call me a plutocrat) who watches as much Fox News as CNN I too have have a thing about gold, as I have none of it and am unlikely to ever have.
