One is quite astonished that such a jaundiced piece is
nodded through by the NYT editoral scrutineers, I mean, for
Gods sake where is the evidence for the unsubstantiated claims it makes?
‘Boris
Johnson, to whom lying comes as easily as breathing’, and journalists whose unsubstantiated
accusations drop off their pen like a maddeningly dripping faucet. In the real
world it is best to realise that with Politicians ‘truth’ is a utilitarian
virtue that is selectively employed, if one is seeking unadorned truth in language
one has to defer back to primitive language.
‘Mr. Johnson, whose laziness is proverbial and
opportunism legendary, is a man well-practiced in deceit, a pander willing to
tickle the prejudices of his audience for easy gain.’ This is a kind of
medieval tarring and feathering, ‘His
personal life is incontinent,’ yes and he is not the only politician who has
strayed from the porch; as to this excretory type reference of incontinence
one could counter argue that this journalist appears to have lost control of
his vowels.
As to evidence: what of Boris Johnsons successful steward ship as Mayor
of London, including overseeing and hosting a very successful and diverse
Olympic Games, compare and contrast that to the current Mayor Sadiq Khan
who has allowed London to become known as the ‘knife capital of Europe’.There
have been at least 33 fatal stabbings in London this year, following a spike last year of 135. As to this last pint - that is called ‘evidence’.
