Holst's beautiful paean to the Nation State

Why not listen to Gustav Holst's 'I vow to thee my Country'
and bask in the exhilaration of pride and love for a nation state with words that like these:
'I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best...'
One listens to music of this nature and one wonders how as opposed to the nation State how did the cult of Globalism come to be; one surmises it came about in a desire for more and more money its message sugar coated with faux morals which were no more than self serving sentiments.I think you can imagine that Holst would not be motivated to compose music of such stirring beauty about Globalism.
