The Contrarian points out that It is wonderful to read this esteemed scholar and hats off to the NYT for an airing of Professor Scruton's highly evolved views. However speaking of evolved; a touch more linguistic paleontology from this rightly acclaimed academic might not go amiss. For instance, on the current cultural impasse caused by Brexit, Trump and burgeoning European populism; might not speaking in evolutionary terms, Mr Scruton (and I realise I am being a cheeky intellectual upstart) but I humbly submit, that an upturning of the evolutionary stone to unearth the relevance of Domain specificity in our cognition and culture might be the cause of the current left/right impasse?
