How cultural wars are dividing nations

If 90%,  or thereabouts,  of the Professoriat is of a leftist bent then what Universities have become are ideology factories.  Depending on ones political sympathies this statistic is a positive or a negative  But if one accepts the leftist bent in academia from where was there thinking derived?

It was not causa sui,  its origins must lie somewhere.  If the thinking is guided by morals these also
are not causa sui, plucked out of the ether, they could be safely viewed as ever changing opinions, one only has to look at history for evidence of that. Leftist viewpoints can be traced back to origins and for many its origins are to be found in the Frankfurt school of the 1920s

As someone who spent  a decade in academia (and never hearing an illiberal view) I too was beguiled by postmodernism.  If communism didn't work and it didn't how about disguising it into cultural
wars as a means to disrupting the values of  the West.  This methodology appears to have worked
see; the US a divided nation and the UK following in its divisive wake
