Recent revelations of alleged sex crimes in Hollywood and sexual impropriety in Westminster have turned the spotlight on male sexual conduct.

But in a brilliant piece in the Spectator magazine social commentator Douglas Murray warned the rules of engagement between men and women were being so drastically redrawn that sex itself was at risk.

The author and journalist said “sexual etiquette is not a science” but an “improvisation”, and there was a danger “clumsy flirting” was starting to be seen as harassment – and perhaps in future an actual crime
