In psycho analytic terms there is the ‘Freudian paradox of traumatic normality’; which from a psychoanalytic point of view, normality is a 'symptom'.
In a judicious account of heterosexuality one might refer to it being from the psychoanalytic standpoint as itself a kind of under-investigated symptom. The compulsion to diagnose (naming)is coercive and in time becomes a cultural straitjacket.
