Elephants, us and cancer.
Elephants live very long lives, there is a great deal of mass to them compared to say a mouse of a human, So why are they not struck down by cancer like humans? This is a rich area of research not only for longevity but for cancer itself,
If every living cell had an equal chance of becoming cancerous, whales and elephants should have a greater risk of developing cancer than dohumans or mice. But across species, the occurrence of cancer does not show a correlation with body mass.
