Britain will no doubt wear even thinner patience for those north of the border, Westminster's patience will wear thing with the some would say faintly thuggy influx of Scottish MPS, the English will want to shed their responsibility for paying for the rest of the UK. London and the South East of England will in time tire of the whole caboodle.
The English without the Scots will continue to pay homage to the monarchical and imperial model of British identity and the artificiality of its Hanoverian (Royal Family) creation.
Some argue that Britain expired, some time past, say 1948, but remains unburied. It has ‘joined the undead on Charon’s ferry across the Styx, those unable quite to reach the realm of Hades.
Britishness always applied more to institutions, the BBC, Oxbridge, Royal Family et al. than the people who populate this island.
