The is a Christian injunction to love thy neighbour as thyself – however. as Lacan points out,  if you fundamentally hate yourself this might serve as an explanation for the barbaric behaviour of ISISie they hate themselves, treat their own personhood with hatred and cruelty and it follows  that they will treat their neighbours in a similar fashion.
