How ill-health induces mystical expeience and 'great' art.

Some people are in poor health when they have epiphanies of illumination from God, indeed
that some forms of illness (TB in Keats DH Lawrence and Katherine Mansfield et al) are extremely favourable, not only to religious illumination, but to artistic and literary
composition. In such circumstances the artist becomes undergoes a sensation of being a vehicle rather than a maker.

However even the most
exalted mystic must return to the world, and use his reason to employ
the results of his experience in daily life. His/her exalted experience might have been termed by them as communion with the Divine or  even the most
