The 'new' is not new, it is the longing for the new

Think of a young pianist at a piano.  He/she is accomplished and is longing to find that note; that 'new' note, but the note lies in the piano, whether it is discovered or not it is there.

We might deduce from this that the 'new' is not new, but the new is a longing for the new.

Why do we yearn so for the 'new' some argue that it is a way to concretise, make real our concept of
Utopia, Nirvana etc, unfortunately, none of which exist.

What might this sort of thinking about the new engender?  Well, it might start thought processes going and that is a lot better than imposing maxims. Let us term it a linguistic
innervation (innervation being the supply nerves to a particular part of the body).
