The interview, that ‘detestable genre’. On Newsnight: Kirsty Walk (c) interviewed Choudary (l) last night with the Ebrahim College Imam and director Shams Adduha Muhammad (r) and and the Islamic Society of Britain executive director Julie Siddiqui (cr)
The interview, that ‘detestable genre’
Another appearance: Anjem Choudary (r) was also interviewed on Channel 4 News last night at 7pm
The decision by the broadcaster to hand over its airwaves to both men had sparked anger from moderate Muslims.
Both men had been previously given slots on the channel in 2010 to talk about sharia law.
According to Channel 4’s website, Nusaybah told the programme that Britain would be a safer place if it adhered to sharia law. A BBC spokesman said it would not comment on guests for its programme.
A Channel 4 spokesman said: ‘4thought.tv includes contributions from a broad spectrum of religions and beliefs and of those Muslims featuring on the slot the vast majority would describe themselves as moderate.’
Humza Yusaf, the Scottish Government’s minister for external affairs, tweeted: ‘I really hope media are sensible and do not give the horrendous Anjem Choudary a minute of publicity to promote his vile hatred.’
Ever watched a media hound sitting there with his/her clipboard...one wonder what there brief is?
Is it to incite verbal pyrotechnics. A good news day for the media, as they dutifully, follow the meme is to surf on the frissons of watching the towers fall.
One wonders how these media types have been educated have they ever been exposed at University to
views which didn't have a left wing bias? Have they been reinforced in the
deep-seated errors of all the left-wing utopias. Have they been disabused of leftist dross.
Leftist liberal humanism in today's straitened times faces
gymnastic opposition and confrontations. In the view of some, the 'left' is becoming isolated, the world bourgeoisie might soon be without the alibi of aristocracies, vengeful reactionaries, wild-eyed utopians and myopic peasantries
Neoliberalism’s abstract visions is now opposed to the weird reality of the schizophrenic 57 varieties of managed capitalism engendered by globalisation and on this schizophrenic playing fields is where the real game is being played out.
And there is an element of finality in globalisation.
