So I am one of the privaleged who just saunter along Piccadilly, pass Fortnums & Masons where bucket loads of plaid clad Americans are having a really English, genteel tea. (In that lazy way I am presuming they are Americans).
Cross the road and I am into the Royal Academy. I have never seen such an interesting array of people and then there is the art, which frankly I am not qualified to talk about. But if you do look it up, note how Manet uses the colour black
Out of the exhibition and stroll along Burlingotn Arcade to the back of the Royal Acedamy where there is a further exhibition of 'conceptual' art. The colours are mind sapping and the concepts, I think the artist is keeping those a secret between herself and her muse.
For an example of the sort of things they stage at the Academy take a peek at their last David Hockney exhibition.
