Avants Gardes the same in their prime but each one dies differently

The  association of Communist parties of the world, established in 1919 by Lenin and dissolved  abbreviated as Comintern, whose strategy for revolution had been laid out in What Is to Be Done by Lenin? The Comintern was comprised by pockets of agitators with individual aims but having the one overriding directive of What is to be Done. In time (1943) the pockets broke up in dissolution as did the Comintern.

One might look at the various Avant Gardes as one does on at the history of the Comintern,
The various Avant Gardes with their various  chanson de geste had a relatively immutable pattern: the first exciting friendships and then the founding of something with a common aim; followed the deliberate scandals and provocations; the manifestos; the enemy lists, the exclusions left and right; the hegemony of intimidation; and then ...the slow asphyxiation by their own obscurantist hands.
