st educated people are aware that we are the outcome of nearly a billion years of Darwinian selection; but many humans seem to think we are the culmination. Our sun, however, is only halfway through its lifespan and it will not be 'humans' who watch the sun's decline 6 billion years from now. Any creature who then exists will be as different form us as wea far from bacteria or amoebae (common name for certain one-celled
organisms)
