PROOF establishes that something happened
ANALYSIS attempts to show why it happened
Proof is a mode of argument that is complete
in Analysis there are always further angles of understanding, different realms of causality
Analysis is by definition always incomplete, even interminable
You witness a car crash and you then carry with you the inexorability of that event
as you relate to you friends, if you were placed as an official investigating the crash
your explanation would be terminated by necessity.
