Never have the police been so insulted and threatened by activists and radical ideologues, while the police and gendarmes are the guarantors of our security, worries the chronicler Édouard Tétreau.
The police are the city. It is not me who asserts it, but the double Greek ( politeia ) and Latin ( politia ) etymology of the word “police”. Its expression is timeless and universal: in practically all the languages of the world, it is written from this root. Without police, no city: no human society can survive without it, without this "government of the city".
