The mob/herd and the certainty that they 'know'.

Epistemology = the theory of knowledge, especially with regard to its methods, validity, and scope, and the distinction between justified belief and opinion

When we come then to the youthful rioting mob powered on by their 'virtue' epistemology as they driven or  led on by their certainty, demonstrate a  diverse collection of approaches to epistemology  viewing communities as the primary focus of epistemic evaluation, with a focus on the intellectual virtues and vices embodied in and expressed by these agents and communities

But then we come to the value problem and  an adequate account of 'knowledge' must explain why knowledge is more valuable than mere true belief;
 knowledge is also like this: in some cases you might believe aptly, and thus 'know', even though time, that great arbiter,  might easily show you have been wrong.

The 'herd' stampeding on by epistemological terms (or concepts) like ‘knowledge’, ‘evidence’, ‘justification’, ‘duty’ and ‘virtue’ the rioters march on, although if you asked them to define any of these terms you might meet with a scatter gun verbal assault of  you f..., f....ing
mother f,,,,,,,go f,,, yourself.

However seeing their side perhaps they are taking an empiricist view a kind of Marxist  theory of knowledge in which the subject, by means of a process of observation and abstraction, comes to know what an object really and truly is, according to its essence, however seeing their visceral anger I would not grant them that level of insight.
