The current confrontations between cultures in the US with strongly held opinions - such opinions which believed by members left/right of the cultures in question to be objectively true can turn out in different ways.
The result of such confrontation may be the persistence of the old views, fruitful and mutual interaction, relativism, or argumentative evaluation. “Relativism” here means the decision to treat the other people’s form of life and the beliefs it embodies as “true-for-them”, while treating our own views as “true-for-us”
The solvent here is that neither side commit themselves to political anarchism; the idea here is to free people from the tyranny of philosophical obfuscators and abstract concepts such as “truth”, “reality”, or “objectivity”, which narrow people’s vision and ways of being in the world.
This doers not then mean that one ends up by introducing one's own defensive concepts of similar rigidity, such as “democracy”, “tradition”, or “relative truth”.
Witness the current riots in the US which illustrates par excellence the compulsive need urge to explain one’s own ideas, not simply, but by systematic means of arson, rioting and looting.
