We 'Humans' are but a series of progressive unfolding, the VIRUS battle being the latest unfolding

We   'Humans are an enddless series of progressive unfolding. 

There is a Purpose that transcends a given organism  in favor of a particular organism’s fitness for the local environment.

 It is an evolutionary process, one that fully involves human beings; we are no exception. What we, as creatures of the earth, do and are, Rorty maintains, “is continuous with what amoebas do and are.”
