one has been imaginative enough to develop interesting alternatives to one’s present beliefs.
It is at times like these plague ridden times that one is it really a foundationless world,
and that a creative, secular humanism must replace the quest for an external authority (God,) to provide hope for a better future.
so that our futures post Plague might be free from dogmatically authoritarian assertions about truth and goodness.
WHAT MIGHT BE THE legitimate next step in completing the Enlightenment project of demystifying human life, by ridding humanity of the constricting “ontotheological” (For Heidegger, ‘ontotheology’ is a critical term used to describe a putatively problematic approach to metaphysical theorizing that he claims is characteristic of Western philosophy in general)
sO POST PLAGUE LET US ENDEAVOUR TO RID OURSELVES OF metaphors of past traditions, and thereby replacing the power relations of control and subjugation inherent in these metaphors with descriptions of relations based on tolerance and freedom AND OF HELPING THE OTHER WHICH HAS BEEN SO EVIDENT IN THESE NIGHTMARE TIMES.
