Academics a kind of rot that saturates others

Viewing the academics at the Salem Witch Trials/Impeachment (Professors? What?) their supposed learning came across as a kind of damp which might in due time saturate a neighboring body, so as their 'learning' is kind of rot, a fungus, and are not some Presidential nominees academics and a millionaire to boot from it, oh that lovable tax payer gravy train.
