Is the 'self, your 'self' continuous or discontinuous ?

In our quotidian (daily) reality, what one “imagines” oneself to be, including from the imagined perspectives of others. Who and what one “imagines” other persons to be, what one thereby “imagines” they mean when communicatively interacting with you.

However what someone says to you and what one imagines they said to you as one lapses into the fictional abstractions of the Imaginary.  However this imaginary state,  far from regarding it as being merely 'unreal' as ineffective, inconsequential epiphenomena, this is not the case for the imaginary is  integral to and has very concrete effects upon actual, factual human realities.
